Projects 1, Teen Volunteers 1

Teen Volunteers for the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth have received their first long term project!  Talk about pumped.  The TVs have the "Welcome Bag" project. This project is worthwhile.  The House has done these welcome bags before and there is a need for the project to start up again, and who better than the invincible TVs.

The project itself involves decorating a white lunch bag with a cheery, welcoming, design. Then filling the decorated lunch bag with various small or travel sized  items such as shampoo, cream rinse, lotion, body soap, toothpaste and toothbrush, breath mint, a bottle of water, a mending kit, breath-mints, gum, a coup for a reduced or free food item, etc.  The idea is to have available items that could either be forgotten by a rushed parent trying to make a care flight with their child or a consumable item that may have run out at the wrong time.  Items  that appear insignificant but can add comfort to a family member already at the breaking point.  Wonderful project huh? Yes.

But, it is working with consumable items that will need replaced frequently and 58 bags are need initially.   Thus the title, Project 1, Teen Volunteers 1.  We have one vital project and one Teen volunteer And this is a battle we want to win.  So come on!  Join the Teen Volunteers of the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth.  You are needed.  And you could start a drive to raise the items needed listed above.  But, one TV  will not make this project roll.  We need you all!
